It was on a visit to Blackpool during a commission that the unique feeling of the place struck me. I had been their as a kid on the annual summer holiday and the place seemed exactly the same as if nothing had changed. So I decided to go back a photograph it over one weekend. I felt like I was reliving the past when holidays meant assumments, booze, fags and slots.

Whilst in Blackpool there was a Ballroom dancing competition at the Pleasure Beach. The contestants go on plastered in make-up. Backstage after their routine the make-up almost melt's off them as the facade drops.
